I
experience and understand the challenges faced by our
local farmers and agricultural community.
Like
many of my fellow Howell Countians, I grew up on a farm. My
father was a farmer, and I operate a family cow-calf operation
in southern Howell County. My brothers operate a family
logging business. We understand that agriculture is the
tradition and lifeblood of our communities and culture, and the
backbone of our Ozark economy.
I
experience and understand the challenges faced by our local
farmers and their agriculture partners. Profitability is
threatened by high fuel costs, and by feed and fertilizer costs.
We must eliminate additional costs imposed by excessive
regulation and government oversight. I will tirelessly advocate
for policies and programs that enhance agricultural production;
that sustain and enhance Missouri family farms and their ability
to compete and prosper in the agricultural marketplace; that
promote job growth by producing and processing agricultural
products in Missouri; and that support, not infringe upon, the
rights of landowners.
Agriculture
is Missouri's largest industry and the heart of the Ozark
economy. As a family farmer, I understand your issues and will
be your voice in Jefferson City.
